Comunque il tema immigrazione è fortissimo in questo momento, e ben vengano provocazioni da un'artista come lei. Ovviamente è anche tanto rischioso vista la diffusa ignoranza collegata a quello che sta succedendo in questo periodo, ma lei non deve farsi piacere da nessuno.

Nel suo ultimo singolo, intitolato Borders, la straordinaria artista cingalese si spinge forse ancora più in là del solito, rivolgendo il suo messaggio forte e d’impatto direttamente alle organizzazioni internazionali e ai leader politici affinché qualcuno si muova una volta e per tutte per risolvere la tragedia dei migranti.

I migranti stessi sono i protagonisti assoluti del video, il cui significato è da riferirsi proprio ai loro estenuanti viaggi, per mare e per terra, resi ancora più drammatici dalla presenza di veri e propri scudi (il filo spinato, un chiaro riferimento alle politiche dell’Ungheria) e ovviamente il mare, diventato tomba d’acqua per centinaia di persone che negli ultimi mesi fuggono dalle guerre e dalla follia dell’ISIS, dilagato in diversi paesi del MedioOriente più disagiato.
