Dopo la quinta stagione, in partenza a gennaio 2016 con will.i.am, Ricky Wilson, Boy George e Paloma Faith come giudici, la BBC non manderà in onda una sesta edizione del talent show delle sedie girevoli.
La decisione arriva dopo il nuovo piano regolatore per risparmiare i soldi pubblici. È stato infatti evidenziato che la BBC non dovrebbe utilizzare i soldi del canone per produrre programmi del genere (uno dei cavalli di battaglia dei Tories dopo la vittoria alle ultime elezioni).
Sembra però scontato che ITV (lo stesso canale che manda in onda X Factor) comprerà i diritti per mandare in onda il programma dal 2017.

The latest reports come just hours after it was said last night the BBC was ready to axe the show with ITV in line to take over.
But now the Daily Mirror has completely backtracked on its story from last night and said the show will STAY on the BBC.
It's claimed that the Beeb is set to announce a new three-year-deal any time soon which will secure The Voice UK's future until at least 2019.
E, pare, spendendo meno di prima. Quindi ancora meno live show, ancora meno soldi per fare una versione degna di TV
