A due anni da ‘In the Dark’, il disco pubblicato nel 2019 scritto e registrato dalla band a Reykjavik con il produttore James Earp (Lewis Capaldi, Fickle Friends), Vök pubblicano ‘Lost in the Weekend’, il primo nuovo brano che anticipa il prossimo album presto in arrivo sempre su etichetta Nettwerk. Il singolo mostra sin da subito la nuova direzione artistica intrapresa dalla band islandese, un sound progressive alt-pop dalle sfumature atmosferiche ed elettroniche. Con il mix di David Wrench (Frank Ocean, Goldfrapp, The xx), ‘Lost in the Weekend’ è in parte autobiografico. “This song was inspired by my young adulthood days when I moved to the city (Reykjavik) and started exploring the nightlife and partying. I wrote this song while I was watching the TV series Euphoria and it really took me back to that time. As a teenager, I was often in a bad headspace and I found the best way to forget about that was to get “lost in the weekend”. Weekends became a focal point in my life and everything seemed to revolve around them” afferma Magrét, lead singer del trio.

In grado di fondere l’elettronica con il dream-pop, Vök continuano a consolidare la loro posizione come una tra le band alternative più eccitanti nel panorama musicale attuale. Con due album ampiamente accolti dalla critica, Vök sono pronti a tornare con un terzo ed atteso disco, anticipato dall’entusiasmante singolo ‘Lost in the Weekend’.

Attivi dal 2013, Vök hanno pubblicato due ep (‘Tension’, 2013 e ‘Circles’, 2015) per poi firmare con Nettwerk, con la quale hanno pubblicato gli album ‘Figure’ (2017) e ‘In the Dark’ (2019). Negli anni la band si è esibita in tour in tutta Europa, sia in apertura ai concerti di Goldfrapp ed Asgeir che da headliner, suonando anche in prestigiosi festival tra cui Roskilde, Sónar, Iceland Airwaves, Green Man, Into the Woods.
